Hello Fellow Followers,
I wanted to share my latest finish, with you all this is my own personal quilt that was a part of a Round Robin in my local Modern Quilt Guild a few years ago.
I started the quilt with the first block which is the large white circle with the smaller circles and flower petals. It was square but someone decided to make it a circle and build the quilt from there. This is in turn why they call it a round robin, you can add your own personal flair to each section or block you add to someone else’s quilt.
I have had this quilt in my to be quilted pile for way to long, the reason for that was this quilt really never spoke to me. I just was not ready to finish it I guess. So I decided this was the time to finally finish this quilt and give it some of my own personal touches to make it feel more like a quilt I would in the end love.
I started off with top quilting free form beads, with swirls in the center finishing that section with straight lines and zig zags. I then quilted X’s in the Irish chain blocks with curved ovals in the center with, pebbling and clamshells. Then I pebbled the free floating boxes with the circles in the center.
I added a lot more ruler work to finish off the other sections, I also was having fun playing with curved rulers as well.
I think overall it turned out great it has dimension and depth now and each section has its own unique design making this one giant Kaleidoscope of color’s and textures.
I then finished the quilt off with a grey and black piped binding, to make it really pop! I hope you enjoy the little tidbit of history on this quilt and the photos as well until next time I hope you all have a
Sew Happy Day
