Hello Fellow Followers,
I hope your February, has been pleasant and not too chilly. I want to share with you, a splendid quilt, that has made quite the trip around the magical world of Hogwarts.
This quilt, started out as a traveling bee quilt. This is where, the quilt maker starts out with a block, or a design of their choice and the group adds, a block or a row to the quilt depending on each quilt makers design.
Gayleen chose the theme of “Harry Potter” the traveling bee group on Instagram. Was called the #newbiequiltbee it was a lot of fun watching this quilt evolve!
There are so many quilting motifs in this quilt from straight lines to feathers and ribbon candy. My favorite’s where the thread painted designs. The flying key, the golden snitch, Hermione Grangers potion 🧪bottles. Hedwig the Owl 🦉 and Harry’s Patroness the “White Stag”.
All the designs work in too one story! one story is told, with the beautiful blocks that make the unique quilt. Then when, I have the honor to quilt the tops, I tell a story that’s woven with thread.
